Feng Tianwei
Chinese-born Feng created one of table tennis biggest surprises in history when she led the Singapore team to beat China to clinch the 2010 World Team Championships title in Moscow. At her 1st Olympic appearance in Beijing in 2008 her team made it to the finals which was Singapore's first ever medal of any kind after 48 years. Feng also won bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games where she was the flag bearer for Singapore at the Opening Ceremony. At the end of October 2016 the Singaporean Table Tennis Association stunned everyone after making their announcement that they will not be renewing the contract of the Olympic medallist Feng Tianwei. The reason cited was to focus more on their younger players. As Feng is still one of the best players in the world, her profile remains here for another while - you never know how things in sports develop.
