Petrissa Solja
Solja’s big international breakthrough year was in 2015, when she beat several top players to reach the German Open final, and won the bronze medal at the Women’s World Cup. In addition, she entered the final at the Europe Top 16. She was born into a table tennis family. Mother and father both played table tennis intensively; her dad Pavel is still a very influential coach for her. Her 2 sisters both made it to the German national team - her big sister Susanne to the national youth team, the middle one, Amelie, even to the German and in the meantime to the Austrian national women’s team. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio "Peti" surprised her fans when she was 1 of 5 athletes from different sports on the German Olympic team who were photographed for the German "Playboy" edition. "Certainly some people will backbite. But everyone sees me as 'little Peti' only. Now I can show a different side of me. My photos are in Playboy - I'm proud of that," she explained.
