Experienced hosts
WTTV
Nowhere else are more active table tennis players than in the West German Table Tennis Association (WTTV). Furthermore, the WTTV is also an experienced host of major events. In 2014 the LIEBHERR Men's World Cup was held in Dusseldorf. And of course, two years before the Team World Championships in Dortmund.

Hosts of the doubles world champions from 1989

The West German Table Tennis Association

The West German Table Tennis Association (WTTV) was founded in 1931. Measured by the number of active team members, the WTTV is the biggest of the 20 provincial associations in Germany with 95,000 players together with the regional associations of Bavaria and Lower Saxony.

The WTTV is the home of Borussia Dusseldorf, Germany's most successful table tennis club and also home of the “German Table Tennis Centre”. Table Tennis enthusiasts people, a dedicated association and a very good infrastructure have made that the WTTV was hosting absolute top events regularly in the past. Recently in 2014, as the LIEBHERR Men's World Cup was held in Dusseldorf at ISS Dome. And two years earlier, of course, the Team World Championships at Westfalenhallen Dortmund. At the same place in 1989, Jörg Rosskopf and Steffen Fetzner celebrated their legendary and double world championship title. At once, that was the WTTC title for Germany until today. Who knows, maybe someone can replay Rossi and "Speedy" Fetzners success from 1989 in Düsseldorf.
